I’ve been knitting for about 10 years – mostly scarves & hats, blankets, and baby sweaters. My first project was a pathetic looking scarf that was wavy and misshapen in ways a scarf never should be. My talents have improved considerably since then.
I first read about illusion knitting in September 2007 in the fabulous Stitch ‘n Bitch: The Knitter’s Handbook. I was intrigued and started looking for more info. While I found some great patterns that had been shared on various sites and some good yahoo! groups, there was no site dedicated to illusion knitting. Aha! An idea was born. Without having tried illusion knitting, I began work on this site while simultaneously designing my own pattern (the dragonfly illusion you see on the basics page).
I decided to offer both free (because I love a deal) and ‘for-a-small-fee’ (to help cover the cost of this site) patterns. You can decide if they look worthwhile enough for you to purchase one.
I live near Huntsville, Ontario, Canada with my amazing and crazy family.
I would love to hear your suggestions and feedback. You can email me here.
